While working on a style of blackletter calligraphy there was an opportunity to use it for a piece of supplemental print material to go along with an installation work that was displayed at the Cranbrook Academy of Art. The work says the word "PAIN" written in different styles of ink calligraphy and blackletter while the layout of the letters makes the words harder to read the more the user tries, making the work painful in its own way. The resulting design was then screen printed on 80 lb. cardstock and handed out to viewers of the installation.
